Jadon Sancho is 'not close' to joining Manchester United despite the latest reports, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Borussia Dortmund winger has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford for the last two years, but a deal has never materialised.
Chelsea are now said to be in pole position to sign Sancho, with the Blues having held talks with the player's representatives over personal terms. Romano claims that United are still interested in Sancho, but they are not close to agreeing a deal with Dortmund.
The Red Devils are said to be put off by Dortmund's asking price for Sancho, which is believed to be in the region of £100 million. United are also thought to be concerned about Sancho's wage demands, which are believed to be around £200,000 per week.
Sancho has been one of the most sought-after players in Europe for the last few years. The 22-year-old has scored 50 goals in 137 appearances for Dortmund since joining the club from Manchester City in 2017.
Sancho has also been capped 23 times by England, scoring three goals. He was part of the England squad that reached the final of Euro 2020 last summer.
If Sancho does join Chelsea, he will become the club's second signing of the summer after the arrival of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City. The Blues are also close to signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.
