Frustration for Palmer at Euro 2024

England star open about his disappointment

Chelsea and England star Cole Palmer has admitted that he found his experience at Euro 2024 disappointing due to the lack of playing time he was given. The 22-year-old midfielder scored England's equaliser in the final against Spain but could not prevent the Three Lions from suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat.

Palmer has been one of England's most impressive young players in recent years. Prior to the international break, he had scored ten goals in 20 Premier League appearances for Chelsea. He was widely expected to play a significant role for England at Euro 2024, but he found himself behind Phil Foden and Mason Mount in the pecking order.

Palmer was handed just five minutes of playing time in England's opening two games of the tournament. He did not feature at all in the semi-final against Italy. However, he was given a chance to impress in the final after coming on as a substitute in the second half.

Palmer made an immediate impact, scoring England's equaliser just three minutes after coming on. However, Spain went on to win the match 2-1 courtesy of Mikel Oyarzabal's late goal.

After the match, Palmer admitted that he was frustrated by his lack of playing time. "It was a tough tournament for me personally," he said. "I felt like I was ready to play more, but the manager had other ideas."

Despite his disappointment, Palmer said that he is proud of what England achieved at Euro 2024. "We reached the final, which is a great achievement," he said. "We can be proud of what we have done."

Palmer's goals

Palmer is now hoping to use the disappointment of Euro 2024 as motivation for the future. He is determined to break into the England team on a regular basis and help them win major tournaments.

"I want to be a part of this team for many years to come," he said. "I want to win trophies with England and I believe that we can do it.

Palmer has already shown that he has the ability to perform at the highest level. He is a talented midfielder who is capable of creating and scoring goals. If he can continue to develop, he has the potential to become one of the best players in the world.
