The Boston Celtics are one win away from the 2024 NBA title after holding off a spirited comeback attempt from the Dallas Mavericks to win Game 3 of the NBA Finals 106-98. The Celtics withstood a frantic Dallas Mavericks comeback attempt in the fourth quarter to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.
The Mavericks, who trailed by 20 points in the third quarter, cut the Celtics' lead to just three points with less than three minutes remaining in the game. However, the Celtics were able to hit their free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 30 points, followed by Jaylen Brown with 25 points and Marcus Smart with 20 points. Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 31 points, followed by Kristaps Porziņģis with 23 points and Spencer Dinwiddie with 17 points.
The Celtics will have a chance to close out the series in Game 4 on Tuesday night. The game will be played at the TD Garden in Boston.
