WEB Sky 5 captured the terrifying moments a tornado touched down in Kay County, Oklahoma, on Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area until 4:45 PM. The warning includes the towns of Binger and Hinton.
The storm, which developed near Eakly, moved northeast toward Blackwell and Ponca City. The National Weather Service reported that the tornado was on the ground for approximately 10 minutes, leaving a path of destruction in its wake.
The tornado is believed to be one of several that spawned from a line of severe thunderstorms that moved across the state on Monday evening. A tornado warning was also issued for northeastern Oklahoma, including the towns of Tahlequah, Eldon, Westville, and Watts. Severe thunderstorms and hail were also reported in the area.
At this time, there are no reports of any injuries or fatalities. However, the National Weather Service is urging residents in the affected areas to seek shelter immediately. The tornado warning remains in effect until 4:45 PM.
